Theft Description

id been out on the bike for the first time since the lock down and was going to lube chain and clean the bugs off the bike i always keep a mammoth disc lock on it at all times as im very nervous of the bike being in london from past experiences of bike theft in my area i also had a tracker on the bike. id filled a bucket up and went into kitchen to get some cloths when heard a noise like an electric buz i look out the widow as a moped started and saw the thieves going down the pavement one on my bike the moped pushing it i ran out tried to stop them but they were to far in front i immediately called the police begging them to take my tracker number as i was watching my bike on the laptop the officer said she couldn't do that and would get the officers to call me after some time i called again pleading for them to take my tracker number as the crime was still in progres again was told i would be called by responding officers. after an hour and a half i finally got the call by that time it was to late the thieves had found it and ripped it out of the bike .the moral of this story is you can spend hundreds getting close to a thousand on security for your bike but it wont stop the thieves if there determined to steal it all you can do is hope to slow them down but when the police don't even get back to you let alone respond to an on going crime were they have a chance to catch bike thieves in the act for an hour and a half whats the point in buying trackers big chains and alarms when the thieves have all the time in the world
