Targeted motorcycle theft from a locked garden then dragged away from property at a BS24 postcode in the north somerset area. A fence panel was physically removed and bike lifted over a small wall possibly by a gang of 3 to 4? Security devices fitted - Motorcycle chain and lock wrapped around the front wheel and standard steering lock but that clearly wasn't enough!Recovery Description
Police in Bristol contacted me 18 months on from the theft to tell me it was found dumped in a field by a dog walker in Yate. I asked them who was likely to be responsible for the theft and the response was possibly a gang operating in the Bristol area using the bikes in conjunction with stolen number plates off other bikes. The bikes are then thought to be used for drug running and further theft etc. If I can offer any advice at all, it would be: don't be naive and lock your bikes up with at least 2+ locks including a ground anchor and some form of alarmed disk lock as well, DON'T BE A TARGET!
