Visiting parents graves in Weston Mill cemetery last Friday, in Plymouth. Father was a RoyalMarine D-day veteran and mums birthday and VE80 celebrations so decided to put flowers on their grave. Nice day, so took my classic BSA parked up next to the grave.. Went to get water for flowers. Came back to their grave, bike had been stolen.Recovery Description
I put out leaflets everywhere, most Plymouth bike shops, the cemetery, Biker haunts. Stopped every person, dog walker, School child , I saw in the area questioned them. Went around the area every day looking in the hot spot areas for dumping. Cycled in the nearby woods and neighborhoods. Everyday looking. I put photos and story on Facebook.A lot of people shared the post everyday. Made it so hot to keep it. This morning , less than 4 days later, a public spirited dog owner phoned me to say her dog had found it in a ditch. Near where it was stolen.. They must have put it back, because I searched the whole area countless times. Only slight damage. Wires cut, a bit of body damage, but at least it wasn’t torched. Don’t give up hope . Harass the thieves, find who they are.If we stick together, one day we can beat the thieving scum. The Police were largely innefective. The system not their fault. I shall fight to make bike crime a crime! Not something minor.
