Frequently Asked Questions

How does Bikers United work?
The idea of this site is to help bikers unite and focus their efforts to chip away at motorcycle and scooter crime. While lots of bikers want to address the huge rise in bike crime, it’s seriously hard to make a difference on your own. That’s why this site was launched. With 100s of eyes on them, we can all contribute and make it harder for thieves to operate.

The site has three main functions. Firstly, report your stolen bike and get the word out there. Secondly, report suspicious activity, for instance, people checking out bikes. Last but not least, report dodgy-looking sellers, whether they are on eBay, Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace – if you come across a dodgy-looking seller, you can help pin them down.

Your snippets of information, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem, will help the police pin down criminals and make it harder for them to escape justice.

Is this service free?
It’s completely free to use this site. It is a privately funded venture by the bloke who started Visordown. I welcome donations to help cover the costs involved in maintaining and developing the site. If you’re pissed off with the rise in bike crime and you want to do something about it, I’d love you to get involved. Whether that’s sharing this site on your social networks, making a donation or helping improve the site. Click here to see how you can help.

I've found my stolen bike what do I do?
If you have listed your bike as stolen on Bikers United, you can login and mark it as recovered. That updates your listing and lets the community know.

If you have found your stolen bike out and about, please read our guide on what to do next.

Can't I just post my bike's details on Facebook?
Facebook is a good platform to spread the word but it’s far from perfect. If you post on your feed, only your friends will see it. If you post in a group, other people have to be members of that group. Facebook is a closed loop and it’s hard to find a post once it has drifted off your feed.

With Bikers United, your bike’s details get posted on the site, posted on social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and fed into Google. So anyone searching for your bike, weeks or months down the line, will find your listing and be able to easily pass on vital information to you.

I'd like to help. What can I do?
I welcome any support you can offer. From donating money to fund the site’s continued development to donating your time to help the site get established and grow. Please check out the links in the footer and get in touch if you’d like to get involved.
